Both Silver Bullet and I had an immediate liking to the style the moment we laid our eyes on these. I prefer the first design while Silver Bullet gave an instant liking to the 2nd one. It was hard to choose one over the other as each of us has a stronger preference for a different one. Hence, we decided to get both since we have plenty of empty walls and we did like both anyway!
I like the fact that they are not run-of-mill sort of art pieces. Done by a Balinese artists, no two pieces are alike. The artist does his art to his whims and fancy. Each looks unique on its own and are not replicated. We were told that 2nd one for instance, was apparently done while the artist was not in a sober state! From what, we don't really know. We just were told that he weren't at all sober when he created that piece...and perhaps most of his pieces too! We were also told that the artist had raised both arms in the air stating that he doesn't know how to replicate that anymore and it was not to be a repeat performance. That's one way to increase its value!
There's just something zen about the first one and I really, really like it. I do think they look good on our empty walls. Together, they somehow make the home looks complete!
