I have no idea what it was that we have been growing in our balcony before this, where the leaves looked kind of funny. The scary thing was, I have even used some of those leaves for my rendang and other dishes, smelling as fragrant as the real tumeric leaves. God knows what the hell they were. Silver Bullet was speculating that they could just be weeds. Hence, the reason it grew and grew and grew relentlessly.
Silver Bullet has since dug out those so-called tumeric plants, and left the other version in the pot. It has thrived since. Currently, one of the pot is looking like the
tumeric plant is finally looking just like what a tumeric plant would look like; an uncanny resemblance to the many images we have seen on the Internet. It has taken a while, but it seems like we are on the right track. Even the other pot has started sprouting tiny shoots of tumeric leaves. At least one of us has THE reliable green thumb!
It's so cool to be able to use fresh ingredients right out of our own balcony!
