Stalled!

What a trip! We could have been home earlier if not for an errant travel agent who did not confim our boat trip back. We had only asked him at least 5 times and we were reassured so when we booked the return tickets. Dumbass.

We did manage an alternative on the same day. However, the boat we were supposed to be on was unfortunately cancelled due to high waves and had to be rescheduled to the day after. Of course, in Thai style, the boat was delayed and we had to do quite a detour on our way back. It was a long, long journey home with 6 hours of non-stop extremely rough boat ride from Koh Tao - Koh Phangan - Surathani followed by more than 8 hours bus ride from Surathani to Bangkok. I blame the travel agent who did not book our confirmed seats on that boat! It could have been done via a 2-hour catamaran to Chompon and then a 5 hour bus-drive to Bangkok from there. Only, this is Thailand and we are the victims in THEIR organized mess, leaving us in massive confusion through the entire ordeal of trying to get home. Try to complain and I guarantee you it will get you nowhere. They probably will stall you even more and you'll end up spending more money on a strategically placed resort! Some travellers had missed their flight and lucky for us, we all live in Bangkok. It's good to be home!
