Mashed-up Banana Balls

What happen when you suddenly have a whole lot of bananas which are turning a bit mooshy from getting a little over-riped, and got a little too much for you to eat at one go, but are too wasteful to be thrown away because they are still quite edible and you just did not have the time to eat them before they rot?

I turned them into these:

Back in Singapore, we call them "Jemput-Jemput Pisang" - I don't know how to translate "jemput-jemput" and "pisang" obviously means banana in Malay.  These, my friends, are nothing but those bananas mashed-up to death.

Add a little bit of vanilla essence and mix in some rice flour, I then tossed them into a frying pan filled with hot oil and deep fry them for a few minutes till they turn golden brown.

It was as simple as that.

It is one of those comfort food, and these banana balls make a great appetizer or dessert at the end of a meal.

...or for when you have the munchies and an itchy backside, and you want to whip up something in the kitchen "just because". Just like I did the other day.
