Spud got a little under the weather recently when I was out of town for a short weekend trip back in Singapore just a couple of weeks ago. It came out of nowhere, really and I reckon, the recent change in weather must have had contributed to that as quite a few people we know somehow caught a nasty cold (including our nanny!).
I came home on a Sunday morning to Spud who had her first cold --- sneezing, coughing, blocked nose, runny nose, slight fever, projectile vomitting.Basically the works! She sounded raspy, lethargic and looked horridly miserable. She was, however, not at all too cranky and despite being a little under the weather, she was still pretty determined to continue playing! It was like she knew she was unwell, but as long as she was distracted enough, she just continued to charge on, giving her parents a weak smile along the way.
It was only towards the evening that she started to ger crankier as she raked up a slight fever when her cold worsened. Then, all she wanted to do was be held.
She gave us the saddest look she could muster that day; I'm sure she milked us up for what it was worth too!
With that, I guess we certainly has passed the first rite of passage in tending to a sick baby. My guess is, that was only one of the few firsts we have started to experience.
That weekend was certainly one of the rarest moments when Spud was docile, and Silver Bullet had candidly managed to capture a nice shot of the world's saddest looking baby ever!
